Bioeconomy Site
The bioeconomy is an economic model based on the production of biological renewable resources and the conversion of these and waste streams into value-added products, such as bioproducts or bioenergy.
The objective of this economic model is a more innovative economy with low emissions, linking the demands of sustainable management of agriculture, livestock and fisheries to the sustainable use of biological renewable resources for industrial matters, assuring at the same time, the environment biodiversity and its protection.
Andalusia possesses the necessary resources and capacities for the development of the bioeconomy due to three relevant factors; an abundant production of biomass, the presence of a developed industrial sector and an extensive knowledge network.
In order to contribute to the sustainable growth and development of Andalusia by promoting actions aimed at promoting the production of resources and renewable biological processes, the regional government has approved the Andalusian Circular Bioeconomy Strategy.
In addition, Andalusian Goverment has designed a website [www.bioeconomiaandalucia.es] from which initiatives, events and documents of interest will be disseminated related to the circular bioeconomy. This portal is targeted citizens in general and institutions and companies interested in this new economic model.
An account has also been enabled on the social network Twitter (@Bioeconomia_And) from which the latest news will be announced.
