Eiffage Infraestructuras undertakes its activities in the sector of public works construction, manufacture of aggregates, manufacture of concrete, mortars and prefabs and manufacture and on-site laying of asphalt agglomerates (an industry in which it is a national leader, with annual production of more than 2 million tonnes).

The activities of Eiffage Infraestructuras encompass the following sectors:

  • Civil Works, Construction and Conservation.
  • Manufacture of asphalt mixes.
  • Manufacture of concretes, mortars and concrete prefabs.
  • Quarries and gravel pits.
  • Milling and recycling of road surfaces.

The R&D & Innovation activities of Eiffage Infraestructuras are incorporated into every sphere of action, and form part of the company culture, through continuous research into new products and processes together with their development and, of course, innovating to offer the market, and especially our customers, an in-house technology which provides recognised guarantees and qualities.

The General Management of EIFFAGE INFRAESTRUCTURAS defines a Strategic Plan to ensure commitment to R&D & Innovation activities. This plan maintains that its implementation should always be associated with “Sustainable Development” for two fundamental reasons: helping to achieve greater social, economic and environmental wellbeing and positioning EIFFAGE INFRAESTRUCTURAS as a leading company in new technologies associated with sustainable development within its activity.

Within the research activities highlighted by the company is the undertaking of different R&D & Innovation projects as well as participation in different forums and congresses in which the technological results and advances being developed are showcased.

  • Reuse of agricultural plastic waste in the manufacture of bitumen mixes for use on roadways according to dry process technology. PLASTIC-ROAD Project. (2012-2013)
  • Study of the performance of bitumen mixes in extreme temperature conditions (fire-ice). PAVIREX Project.(2011-2014)
  • Sustainable and environmentally friendly SMA mixes as per UNE EN 13108-5 family of standards. SMA Project (2010-2012).
  • Development of low-temperature bitumen mixes (2007-2008).
  • Use of dry- and wet-processed powdered rubber from scrap tyres for the manufacture of hot-mix bitumen (2002-2006).
